Description:
Progress Reports exist for a number of reasons, but at the core is an idea of self-reliance and trust.
If you keep up with your progress report, then your Council can read it and be assured you are doing your work without them standing over your shoulder. It provides to the Council information on what is being done and not being done, information by which they can decide on how to move forward with you as an admin. Above all the information seen is the simple fact that you did work, and this builds up trust and confidence in your image as an admin towards the Council.
Progress Reports provide self-reliance as well through reflection, by allowing you a few minutes to sit back, relax, and consider how you have done as an admin. Questions you can ask yourself is did you do enough? Did you so much that you need to tone it down a bit and pace yourself? Should you be focusing on other tasks rather than the ones you are doing to get work done in other areas? Is there anything you have done that you could do better on, be faster at, and ultimately seek advice or training from your Council?
At the same time, a lack of progress reports being done is a poor reflection of you as an admin, and a lack of tasks listed can reflect on you as well.
